Get to the Point: Pleasant Point’s Community Fair
Join us in the heart of South Canterbury for Get to the Point, Pleasant Point’s annual family fun day and market. This year’s event will be held on Saturday 8 November 2025, from 10 am to 3 pm along Main Road, Pleasant Point.
Every year, our main street comes alive with market stalls, food trucks, live music, classic cars, and free entertainment for the kids. It is a day to celebrate our community, showcase local talent, and enjoy a relaxed day out with friends and whānau.

There is something for everyone at Get to the Point:
- Over 100 market and craft stalls
- Food and coffee vendors
- Live entertainment and music all day
- Shearing competition and Highland dancing displays
- Dog trials and rural demonstrations
- Vintage and classic car displays
- Helicopter and train rides (off the main street)
- Free children’s rides and activities
All entertainment for children is free of charge. Bring a picnic blanket, explore the stalls, and spend the day enjoying everything Pleasant Point has to offer.

Where It All Happens
The event takes place in the centre of town, with Main Road (State Highway 8) closed to traffic for the day. Parking is available on surrounding streets, with mobility parking at the community pool carpark on Harris Street. Some activities such as the dog trials and helicopter rides are held nearby.
You can find free parking at the Pleasant Point Domain, and catch a lift with our courtesy van to and from the event.
