History
Get To The Point traces its roots to the Pleasant Point Gymkhana, first held in 1947. Early programmes featured wood chopping, shearing, dog trials, show jumping and dressage, Highland dancing and trotting races.
Over time the day shifted into a town-centre community fair with stalls and family entertainment, while the Gymkhana Shears remains a main fixture. In 2022 the event marked its 75th year.
